Sorry that I haven't posted anything recently. My picture uploader is mad at me right now... so this is the only pic I could get to work! This is us after our first week of DTS. Starting from the very tall guy on the left... Yuri is his name... he's from Civasterpol, which is in southern Ukraine. The girl in the red hat is Andrea from Stockholm, Sweden. Then Svit Lana (we call her Svieta) is the blonde. She is from the same town as Yuri, Galia and Gulia. Then me obviously. Next to me in the orange shirt and purple jacket is Veronika. She is an orphan from Uzghrod. The girl in the skirt is Natasha, from Perm, Russia. Then the curly haired woman is Galia, one of our leaders. The woman next to her holding the VERY cute little girl is Sharyn. She and her husband Ruslan taught the Ancient Paths seminar this past week. They have 2 little girls. Sharyn is from Idaho and Ruslan is Ukrainian. The woman in stripes is Gulia, our other leader. The guy in front with the guitar is Vova, from Ternopil.
I will try to post some pics of the inside of the house... but like I said before, my uploader hates me :(. Yesterday all of us except Andrea, who was sick, went to this big conferance with Campus Crusade for Christ. Big meaning like 2 or 300 people!!! We were told there would be 500, but I don't think there was quite that many there. There was mostly Africans there, but they spoke English so that was nice. Some of them spoke French as well, which I thought kind of strange at first. We had traditional African worship which was beyond anything I could ever have imagined!!!! I mean they were SCREAMING, dancing, and just praising God with everything they had! It was really good! Then an African pastor that actually has his own mega-church in Kyiv brought a message... then more worship! It was amazing! Then they called our DTS up on stage to introduce ourselves. I gave the introduction for our group, we all said our names and where we were from, and then Yuri and Veronika gave their testimonies. This morning Yuri and I went to the African church that met in this tiny little room in a university. Let me tell you... there was probably 30 people there maximum... but the worship was the same as yesterday!!! The service itself lasted 4 HOURS!!!!!!! I used to think it was bad if we ran over 15 minutes!!! I think that probably 3 of the 4 hours was spent in worship and prayer. The pastor spoke for like 30 minutes, and then we had testimonies and announcements. It was REALLY good!!! Yuri keeps getting the word prophet from everyone, so he's praying about why he keeps getting this word. That is about all that's gone on the past few days.
I love and miss all of you dearly. Thank you for your continued prayers, they are felt daily! I will update again soon... for now... God bless!
-Missy
